Kummerspeck: noun, German - “grief bacon”
I have just learned from elbeebee that this is a word for weight gained due to overeating while depressed.
Germans - ridiculous but practical in both manner and language.
And saying that one has “10 pounds of Kummerspeck to lose” is so much more fun and exciting that admitting that you got slightly chubby because you were sad and sedentary.
